My grandfather was J. Earl Lewis and he served as mission president in Eastern Canada from October 1955 to April 1959. He loved Canada and up until his death, he would talk about the missionaries and members he served with. He died October 7, 1996 in his home in Provo, Utah.

Contributed by Paula Lowry Sevy:
He just happened to be my family doctor when he was called to this mission. In addition, he was also my Stake President (or at least in the stake presidency) when he was called. This, of course, was in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. His family still resides there (at least a son), I believe.

Kenneth Godfrey19781981Canada MontrealKenneth Godfrey served as a Stake President from Brigham City.
Contributed by Paula Lowry Sevy:
His family was from Cardston, Alberta. His father owned a furniture store when I lived in Cardston.
Curtis F. Wynder19811984Canada Montreal Contributed by Donald N. Bugg: After finishing his term as CMM President, Curtis Wynder later served, during the mid-1980s, as President of the French-speaking branch at the MTC. (He was our ecclesiastical leader while I was there, in late 1985.)
Scott H. Taggart19841987Canada Montreal Contributed by Donald N. Bugg:I do not know where President Taggart is now, but I am aware that he and his wife Lou Ciel served another mission in west Africa shortly after his presidency of the CMM ended. I saw pictures he sent of some of the people he baptized. It was a proselyting mission, and he was not president of the mission. I believe he served yet another mission after that, but I cannot confirm the details of that information.
Contributed by Dean LaRue: President Taggart and his wife did serve another mission to the Ivory Coast after he finished his presidency in the CMM. They were brought home early so they could prepare to go on another mission, as mission president, to Zaire, Africa. I heard this information from him at a mission reunion that I attended between those two missions.
Contributed by Dean LaRue: I saw in the Church News (week ending June 10, 2000) that Scott H. Taggart is the president of the Montreal Temple.
Contributed by Amy Taggart Warner (2/17/2001): Just thought I would let you know....after Montreal my parents served in Ivory Coast, Zaire, temple missionaries in Swizerland, Chile, and a short spot in Spain before they were transfered to Ecuador. I think that is all of them. As you know they are now serving for three years as the temple President and Matron of the Montreal, Quebec temple. They are living on the South Shore near the temple.
Comment by Linda Pelchat on 7/3/06: Scott and Lou Ceil Taggart are now serving a humanitarian mission in Chili. She phoned me earlier this year.

Another fact I remembered about President James Rasband: His wife's name was Esther, and she was the author of a short book on marriage relationships. I received a copy of the book--I believe the Rasbands gave it as a gift to all the missionaries.
