These comments from the former site maintainer, Dave Pitcher:
Just a little history about the web site. I took over the CMM Alumni Page in about July of 1995. At that time there were about 12 alumni listed on the page. I have forgotten the name of the originator of the page, but I made up a page and sent him a copy of it. He got back to me and asked if I would be willing to take it over because of the time involved, and I happily took over. At that time, there were about 15 mission pages on the net, and the CMM was the eighth mission alumni page.
For a while Craig Harmon of the Paris France Mission was keeping track of the missionary count for each page, and we were always in the top five.
The page has grown steadily, and as the internet has become more and more accessible the increase has been greater and faster.
I have really enjoyed hearing from alumni who have found long lost companions and friends after years (in some cases decades) of no contact.
These comments from the current site maintainer, Jay Mackley:
I should mention that the CMM page has always been affiliated and listed with mission.net formally known as LDS Mission Network (LDSMN) which is an organization for publishing mission web pages.
I took over the CMM Alumni Page from Dave Pitcher in May of 1998. At that time there were about 480 alumni listed on the page.
As for the missionary counts, with many more websites online, the CMM site is now fourth largest in terms of single mission alumni with email addresses. It continues to grow steadily with 1715 missionary alumni listed.
I've had a lot of positive feedback about the CMM site and I appreciate the information and updates that have been sent in.
