Spring at last! (Except in Iqaluit)

The leaves are still few and far between in Quebec and Ontario (and non-existent in treeless Iqaluit), but warmer temperatures make missionary work more fun B and apparently more successful!  How grateful we are to see so many people join the Church in recent weeks.  Congratulations to all the people involved in these miracles of conversion - and that includes every missionary.  Whether you are finding, teaching, fellowshipping, helping members feel the spirit of missionary work, strengthening less actives, baptizing, or strengthening a companion, the light you emanate to the world helps to make it a better place for all of us.  Every missionary contributes to the goals of increasing convert baptisms and retention, building God=s kingdom on earth, and bringing the Church out of obscurity.  Thank you for your selfless service.  Let=s do all we can to qualify for the blessings and miracles we seek.  We do God=s work by bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to a spiritually hungry world.

Mission Miracles and Memories

President McAteer, newly called stake president in Ottawa, told us about desiring to obtain a Korean Book of Mormon for a visiting Korean family member who was leaving very shortly.  He asked the missionaries when he saw them in the building how he could get this book, and they went to call the zone leaders to ask.  Half-way to the phone they turned around and came back. They told President McAteer they remembered a Book of Mormon with Oriental writing floating around in their car for some time.  They checked the trunk and sure enough, it was a Korean Book of Mormon, available immediately when needed!

From New Members

In my work I have been traveling for 25 years searching for something that was missing.  When I arrived in this small border town in 2003 I knew in my heart that there was going to be a major change in my life.  The elders came down my driveway, and I realized I wanted to talk with them.  When they came to my house every time I knew that these young men were on a mission from God.  I felt the Holy Ghost in my home when they were here.  I also knew some feelings were making me change.  As I read the Book of Mormon it was so powerful that it made me cry - I had never felt like this in my whole life.  As soon as I was in church I knew I was home.  I listened to everyone singing the hymns and they were like voices from Heaven.  I felt love for the first time in so long!  My heart felt like it would jump out of my chest, I was so full of life.  I now have the most wonderful family - the members of the Church are so great.  I feel so blessed.
