We bring you good tidings of joy

The angel declared to the shepherds in the fields  Agood tidings of great joy@ on the night of the Savior=s birth.  Now we are the Aangels@ who  carry this same message to those we meet.  We bring good tidings and great joy.  The gospel is the Lord=s plan to help people find joy and peace in their lives.

Each time we make and keep a covenant, we reap a blessing.  When we live the law of obedience, we learn discipline.  When we live the word of wisdom, we learn to control and care for our bodies.  When we live the law of chastity, we gain the blessing of more stable relationships.  When we keep the Sabbath, we are blessed with rest and refreshment.

As we help our investigators repent and turn to Christ, we bless them through the covenants they keep.  We are the messengers who bring truth and light to the world through the covenants of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  To be worthy of this sacred assignment, we need to daily commune with God, to invite Him into our lives, and to do His will with honor.

We encourage each of you to make the pending Christmas season a time of personal joy as you share the gift of the gospel with people you find and teach.  There is no greater call and there is no greater gift.

President and Sister Ulrich

More of the CMM to Love

The Canada Montreal Mission now officially includes the eastern time zone of the territory of Nunavut, going north to the North Pole.  This means we have Santa Claus, so better be good!

A new family of four has been added to the Iqaluit branch, and others are also attending regularly.   Is this the furthest north branch in the world?  We=d love to know!

Mission Miracles and Memories

Everyone prays for miracles and I know that we don=t actually realize how often they occur.  One Sunday a good friend came up to us and said she wanted to be baptized.  We didn=t quite believe it but we set everything up with the English elders.... Two weeks later she was baptized.  Every missionary wishes for someone to coe up to them and say, AI want to be baptized.@  I didn=t even realize it was a miracle, but now looking back the Lord has his hand in this work.  Sister Robinson

My highlight: being a missionary!  Elder Weigel              A neat experience happened during metro singing.  A man walked by the choir and down the halls toward the exit.  He hadn=t been contacted by anyone and I had a distinct impression to talk to him.  He went out of sight, and I had the impression again.  I stopped singing and ran down the hall.  I caught up with him close to the stairs and contacted him.  I got his number and he seemed interested.  As I walked down the hall back to the choir I heard ABe Still My Soul@ echoing loudly down the hall and felt the rush of the spirit for heeding His impressions - a great feeling.  Elder Webster

Because we helped Amy we met Tracy and she was really impressed with the missionaries and with the Church in general.  Then, because we came back from Q-city we did not have time to do laundry.  Amy asked us if we had laundry B what a blessing that was!  Now this was the coolest part: Thursday I forgot one of my socks in the dryer.  Because Amy left Friday morning at 5:00 a.m. she could not give it to me, so Tracy kept it and called us.  We picked up my sock and now we are contact with Tracy=s entire family.  Her husband works during the weekend so he wasn=t in church but Tracy was with three of the kids.  Tracy went up during fast and testimony meeting and shared with everybody in church that she believes that you meet people for a reason, and how much peace we had already brought t her home.  She was crying, the kids were, and I was just falling apart.  They all loved church and talked about it so enthusiastically.  The promise in our mission calls is true B I have been blessed like never before.  Elder Caers

From New Members

Folly Messangan, Chicoutimi

The first time I heard of Christ=s Church was during a commercial I saw about family when I was a young boy.  I was never really close to my family, so I thought it was nice that close and happy families do exist in the world.  Many years later I met a [missionary], Sister Olsen, singing Christmas carols at Place des Arts.  She gave me a card of Jesus, so that I can call for a Finding Faith in Christ video.  Unfortunately I never got the video.  I did, however, keep the card she gave me of Jesus near my computer at work.  Every time I would have a bad day at work, I would look at the card and I would feel peace.  One day I called for the video again.  I told the person on the other end I wanted it right away, and I insisted I come pick it up myself.  I was told to come by the Montreal Ward and someone would be waiting for me.  I said fine and after I hung up the phone my life would change forever.  I started meeting with the missionaries.  I could not wait until our next discussion.  My discussions with the missionaries were on of my happiest times in my life.  The feeling of happiness and peace that I felt made me realize that what the missionaries were saying was true.  Many things have change in my life since I became a member.  I now sleep well.  My relationship with my family has improved greatly.  I am more calm, cool, and collected with my supervisor as I have prayed for her.  I no longer hang out with the wrong crowd, ad now look forward to meeting good, righteous people.  Because I know Heavenly Father and Jesus live, it makes me want to be a better and happier person.  Costa Labos
