Wendy and David Ulrich

David O. Ulrich, 48, Huron Valley Ward, Ann Arbor Michigan Stake; professor at the University of Michigan; received bachelor's degree in university studies and master's in organizational behavior from BYU, and Ph.D. in management from the University of California at Los Angeles; born in Ely, Nev., to Richard and Karin Olson Ulrich. Married Wendy Lynn Woolsey, three children.

She received a bachelor's degree in education from BYU, master's of business administration from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan; consultant, psychologist with David Klimek & Associates and adjunct professor at BYU; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lacelle William and Barbara Larsen Woolsey.

ANN ARBOR, MI. -- Dave Ulrich, professor of business at the University of Michigan Business School and of the Huron Valley Ward, Ann Arbor Michigan Stake, was named No. 1 among the "Top Management Gurus," by Business Week magazine. "Ulrich gets top marks because because execs say he does the best job taking the time to understand a company's operations," the article stated.

"Dave is very practical," said Frank T. Morgan, global director of executive development and leadership at Dow Chemical. "He's not just going to give us theory; he's going to apply it and show what it means."

Well-known LDS author and consultant Stephen R. Covey was No. 7 on the list.
